The success of The First Tee relies heavily on volunteer involvement. At The First Tee of Detroit, we have a number of volunteer opportunities for anyone with the time, interest and desire to help. All The First Tee of Detroit volunteers will be “role models” to the youth participants by listening and providing encouragement. Volunteers must consistently act as examples of honesty, integrity, sportsmanship and self-discipline.   Would You Like to Volunteer?

Volunteering with The First Tee is possible in several ways: Teaching Assistants are needed to assist our instructional staff. Teaching Assistants should have a reasonable level of golf knowledge and experience. “On Course” Volunteers walk with the youth golfers during league activities and supervised play. “On Course” Volunteers should have a reasonable level of golf knowledge and experience. Site Coordinators provide assistance during program activities. They may be needed to greet parents and golfers, assist with registration and possibly accompany youth golfers to their stations. No golf experience or knowledge is necessary. Special Event Volunteers are needed to assist The First Tee staff at various events, clinics, leagues and tournaments. No golf experience or knowledge is necessary.

Because each Chapter of The First Tee is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, facility directors rely heavily on volunteerism to support their programs.  To volunteer with The First Tee, please contact a Chapter near you!
